Hi, I’m Deeya Kotecha.

I’m a doctor, an investor and the founder of Satbio, a new company in drug discovery. It’s early, and I’ll share more soon. I also run Good Pharma, a podcast and media company about biotech and pharma.

I grew up in the north of England, studied medicine at Cambridge and practised as a doctor in London before moving to New York. There I spent three years investing in biotech, first at Avoro Capital and then at RD Ventures. After that I spent six months as an entrepreneur in residence at South Park Commons working on AI for biology and clinical trials, which is where I settled on what to build.

I started Good Pharma because biotech and pharma get a fraction of the attention tech does, despite the impact they have on people’s lives. Most people can name the CEO of Meta but not the CEO of Merck, even though they take the medicines these companies make.

I want the show to be a dose of optimism about drug discovery and the future of medicine. Season one covers Eli Lilly, Amgen and Moderna. Listen at goodpharma.fm.
